Why is La Palma called the Isla Bonita?

As many of you may already know, the island of La Palma is known as the Isla Bonita. But where does this statement come from?

The answer is very simple, its high mountains, its volcanic orography, its sea and its blue sky, make La Palma a beautiful island without a doubt.

35% of La Palma is covered with protected green spaces and is the greenest of the Canary Islands.  The dorsal part of the island is formed by volcanoes such as Cumbre Vieja.
